Oh what a night day

Had a phonecall this morning to say that the final search was back, and have arranged to go and pay the deposit (shame, I rather liked the size of my bank balance with it in there) and sign some paperwork, and then we're nearly there!
Today has been a rather hectic day emotions wise, as it was the funeral of a family friend who died suddenly last week. On the way to the funeral, as Chris was picking me up from outside my house, my elderly and unobservant neighbour decided to reverse into the side of the car.
I should mention that he's done this before, although last time none of us were in the car and he waited two days and got stonkingly drunk before he came round and told us. By which time Chris had already got a roasting from his mum from the damage to her car.
The funeral went as well as can be hoped, but poor Chris's mum is now emotionally and physically exhausted, and I feel useless as to how I can help her when she is so upset.
So, a day for celebration, but not today. The news can wait until everyone is feeling better.
