enough already

Right, where were we?
Mortgage - offer came through, four grand short. Was mightly pissed, as no one was listening to me when I was asking whether the amount I could borrow was being calculated from my part time pay, my part time pay with guaranteed overtime, or what I will earn in September on a full time contract. Spoke to the most helpful and polite estate agent in the world (this may be a lie) who in order to support me through the difficulties of dealing with the mortgage company not listening to me decided the best thing she could do was put the house back on the market. Apparently this was doing me a favour, as the vendor never knew about the sold sign.

The Fella is now in charge of phoning the estate agent, as I may be struck with a sudden and unavoidable bout of Tourettes should I have to contact her again.

In order to prevent further time wastage, we have borrowed the four grand from the Royal Bank of Parents (has the added advantage of being interest free), but it took another fortnight for the sold sign to go back up.

Add into the equation a solicitor who was recommended to us for being quick and using email, who instead writes to us to ask simple questions that:

a. have already been answered (e.g. - yes, do the damn searches, for gods' sake!)
b. could be answered (again) even quicker by email or phone.

If we are in the house before the end of the summer hols it will be a bloody miracle. I hope we are, not least because I cannot go into work over the six week holidays because our roof is being repaired. I have six weeks which are crying out for painting and sanding and shifting furniture round. I will lose my mind if they are six weeks of phoning people and answering unnecessary letters.
