Enough already
So, avid readers, you may know that today was the day when contracts were supposed to be exchanged and stuff. I don't know if that means I would have also ended up with the secure weight of a bunch of keys in my hand, but I think you can tell it's fairly safe to assume by the fact that I have time to post here and aren't supping champagne in my new pad, that it didn't go ahead.
Am still waiting for a mortgage approval, as my paperwork was lost during processing, then found again, then I needed to provide my latest payslip. Cue frantic rummaging in the important black folder that has all paperwork relating to the house in it and going through payslips dating from August 2005. Could not find latest payslip, felt panicky. Himself was sure we were going to lose the house.
Got ready for bed, spent some quality time on the throne reading a book, went through the envelope one more time - and found the bloody payslip. Himself was supposed to be faxing it over, so I drove to his in my jammys to drop it off.
Mortgage advisor is more elusive than Lord Lucan - phone one office to be told she's working at another, phone that one to be told they've never heard of her, then get told she's somewhere else. Guess what; she wasn't.
Latest update today was "Underwriters haven't had a chance to look at it today, as it's the end of the month and lots of people are completing today."
Yeah, and I was supposed to be one of them sweetheart.
Houses are both full of new house stuff, and am frustrated with being asked how things are going with the house. Trust me, when it's all good - you will not have to ask me. I will either be unable to restrain myself from telling you, or will be collapsed from sheer relief and nervous exhaustion in a corner, a bunch of keys unable to be pried from my paw.
