"It's all about evolving..."

August 23rd saw the release of the long-awaited Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned album from The Prodigy. It also saw a team of bootleggers release their cheeky re-working Always Outsiders, Never Outdone. Following Liam Howlett's comments in an interview with DJ Magazine, the group have helped the new album evolve that little bit further, with remixes, mash-ups and bootlegs of the tracks available from the Prodigy Remixed site. They are available for download as individual tracks, or as a Bittorrent file, and are also doing the rounds on all good p2p networks. Once again, you are asked that if you download and enjoy the album to make a donation to one of the project's chosen charities.

Whilst this remix album is not the first of its kind - it follows the lead of the controversial Grey Album, and other GYBO projects London Booted and Parkspliced - the fact that it shares its release date with the original album highlights how advance copies of the album have been available online for months. If record companies want to reduce piracy, surely reducing the amount of promotional copies sent to all and sundry would be a sensible step!

All the tracks are superbly produced; my personal highlights include Pop Razor's Phoneus (it's just so cheeky!) and Dunproofin's Jungle Bells. It is, however, superb in its entirety.

The popularity of Always Outsiders, Never Outdone has been overwhelming, listen to it now before it implodes under its own might!
