The Mage and The Neophyte
(with due deference to Mad Mick S.W.B.O.B.B. and apologies to Edward Lear)
The Mage and The Neophyte went to the Sabbat,
Newbie, she was dressed as an elf;
Mage paid good money for a cloak that smelt funny
But had belonged to Alex Sanders himself!
The Mage looked up to the stars above
And made a real mystical sign,
"O innocent Newbie! I'll teach you my love
By the end of the night you'll be mine,
Be mine!
By the end of the night you'll be mine!"
Newbie said to The Mage "Oh dear wise Sage
I'm a little concerned by what you say,
I know that it's June, but it's a little too soon
Should we not wait a year and a day?"
"No my child," The Mage he smiled
"I was initiated by Gardner, 'tis true,
but for a small fee, payable to me
I'll give all my knowledge to you,
To you!
I'll give all my knowledge to you!"
Taking his stick, and trying to look slick
The Mage drew signs in the dirt,
"Bless my Ay-thayme-" his cloak caught in the flame
and singed his "Witches do it in circles" T-shirt!
This wizard's a joke - his circle's full of smoke
And his candles all burned out too soon.
He blushed at this hitch, whilst Newbie - A real witch
Just danced by the light of the moon,
The moon.
She danced by the light of the moon.
The moral, my friend, as we come to the end
Of this amusing and perilous tale,
Amidst all the fun, it's a serious one:
Trust not these 'magicians-by-mail'.
Magus's thrice bound are all around
But many have paid for their 'art'.
'Secret Circle' member? Just remember;
True Magick should come from the heart
The heart.
True magick should come from the heart.
